An old accordion player (73) continues to learn, motivated by a love of music and MrT.

I switched to Trumpet on this one thanks to the guys at
Samplemodeling. It is the first virtual instrument that always sounds as good as the first time I heard it.

Thanks Guys!

Nicely done! :D I thought I was the oldest guy on this forum at 52. I'm happy to be learning each day as well. My wife said she enjoyed your music too! Thanks for sharing. -Perry & Trudy-

Perry,

Music is a beautiful gift that, like fine wine, gets better
with age. You are still just a "pup" so keep on enjoying and learning. It helps to keep us young.

Tell Trudy I'm glad she enjoyed the music.

Thanks to both of you.

Nice playing. I especially liked the sax solos. I assume that you are playing the trumpet and the sax using a midi keyboard, right?

The sax has a nice mellow tone that I have not been able to get with my EWI windcontroller. Would you mind sharing your parameter settings for the mellow sax tone?

Thanks,

Dan

Dan,

You have a good ear. The sax you heard was a real
sax played by a studio musician.

My goal, at the time, was to do a quick demo using
Mr T
(Trumpet). So I created a backing track which
included the solo improvisation of the sax hoping
that it would demonstrate the use of a virtual
instrument (Mr T) with real recorded instruments.

In parts, I did keep the sax in the lower octave
(+) which helped provide that "mellow" tone you
mentioned. (I'm waiting for a nice breathy Tenor
Sax from Samplemodeling).

I used a BC3a breath controller for Mr T (still learning).

Let me know if you have more questions.

BTW, I appreciate your input to this website.

A "Band in a box" soloist track i guess, like all the other tracks (except The Trumpet of course :))

Yes.

For me the Band-in-a-Box Real Tracks are an ideal
complement for Samplemodeling's virtual
instruments.

I have invested in several top of the line
musical softwares and Band-in-a-Box with their
new (relatively) Real Tracks is one of the best
and most unique musical track generating
programs.

I agree and especially for people like me who have very few time to practice music it is the ideal compagnon. I am observing the evolution of this old program since long time and it's true that with the realtracks and the realdrums it became very attractive for me now.
I am about to buy it...
